CGC Signature Series Comics & CGC Graded Comics

CGC comics are indepedently and professionally graded comics from Certified Guaranty Company, who have graded over 2 million comics. They have quickly become the de-facto comic industry standard for rare, collectible and signed comics. They are sealed in rigid plastic holders (slabs) to ensure the condition of the comic is protected and to avoid any tampering.

CGC Signature Series comics are given the prestigious yellow label when they are witnessed and graded by CGC. As the comic signing or sketching must be witnessed only by a CGC employee or authorised CGC signing partner and the comic is then taken away for grading, the authenticity is guaranteed.

CGC Qualified green labels are given to comics that are graded but have some special condition or qualification applied to them. In the case of signed comics, a comic that is signed without being witnessed by a CGC employee or authorised Signing partner will get a green label. This applies to Dynamic Forces signed comics or any signed comic not witnessed and removed by CGC at the time of the signature.

CGC Blue labels are given to unsigned comics which have had no restoration applied to them.

CGC Purple labels are given to comics which have had some form of restoration applied to them whether professional or amateur. Purple labels can be present on Signature Series or unsigned comics.
